Prabowo Subianto: Visi Kepemimpinan dan Harapan di Muhammadiyah

Jakarta – Candidate number 2 for President, Prabowo Subianto, affirmed his commitment to advance Indonesia while attending an Open Dialogue with Muhammadiyah Along with the Candidates for National Leaders at the Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya. At the event held on Friday (24/11/2023), Prabowo, who attended wearing batik, was warmly welcomed by Abdul Mu’ti, the General Secretary of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership.

The dialogue aimed to test the knowledge and ideas of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates ahead of the 2024 Election. Prabowo, in the dialogue, highlighted the importance of education and integrity in national leadership.

“Education and honesty are the key to building the nation,” said Prabowo.

The Secretary of the Prabowo Subianto National Campaign Team and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Nusron Wahid, emphasized the important role of Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama in the landscape of Indonesian Islam.

“NU and Muhammadiyah cannot be separated in their role towards Islam rahmatan lil alamin in our country,” Nusron said.

Interestingly, Prabowo Subianto also received an honorary membership card from Muhammadiyah after the dialogue. Abdul Mu’ti stated that this membership was given as an appreciation to figures who have integrity and commitment to Muhammadiyah.

Prabowo affirmed his comfort in being among the Muhammadiyah organization.

“I feel like I’m in the middle of my own family,” he said. He also hoped for support from the Muhammadiyah community in the 2024 Presidential Election.

Prabowo’s visit to Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya not only strengthened his relationship with Muhammadiyah, but also showcased his realistic and logical vision of leadership. Despite the limited time, the ideas presented by Prabowo received positive feedback from Muhammadiyah.

“We will continue to analyze the ideas of all candidate pairs,” concluded Abdul Mu’ti, indicating Muhammadiyah’s commitment to responding to the national political dynamics. (SENOPATI)
