“Christmas 2024: Support Prabowo Subianto for Indonesia’s Future”

Monsignor Antonius Subianto Bunjamin, Chair of the Presidium of the Indonesian Bishops’ Conference (KWI), delivered a speech during the 2024 National Christmas Celebration in Jakarta, emphasizing the importance of supporting President Prabowo Subianto’s administration in its mission to advance the nation and address various challenges. He called on Indonesians to pray for and offer assistance to the government, community leaders, and cultural figures working together to improve Indonesia and uplift its people.

Mgr. Antonius highlighted the existing issues in Indonesia such as injustice, poverty, intolerance, human trafficking, gambling, predatory lending practices, and environmental degradation. He urged everyone to embody compassion, love, and brotherhood, especially towards the vulnerable members of society. The congregation was encouraged to create a sense of Bethlehem within their hearts, where God’s presence can dwell and illuminate their actions.

In his prayer, Monsignor Antonius asked for blessings for the government led by President Prabowo and the Merah Putih Cabinet to transform Indonesia into a new Bethlehem. He envisioned a future where the light of brotherhood and compassion radiates from the government, addressing the nation’s challenges and dispelling darkness. The Monsignor concluded by calling on the congregation to continue to support the government in building a brighter future for Indonesia, working together to glorify and praise God in all aspects of life.
