President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia arrived in New Delhi, India, late on Thursday night to a warm welcome from Indonesian citizens. Among those excited to greet Prabowo was Nadine Ardiani Chairunisa, an Indonesian student studying Marketing Communication at Amity University, who had been eagerly waiting since 5pm. Accompanied by fellow student Demas Fadel Anggara, they described the experience as both exciting and nerve-wracking due to several delays. Other Indonesians present, such as Rajendra, Marvell, and Adyatama, expressed their gratitude for Prabowo’s personal gesture of shaking hands with them upon arrival. They shared their hopes for a successful working visit in India and a brighter future under Prabowo’s leadership.

Prabowo’s visit to India not only signifies a new chapter in bilateral relations but also marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic cooperation between Indonesia and India. Prior to his departure from Jakarta, Prabowo expressed pride in being invited as the chief guest at India’s 76th Republic Day celebrations, considering it a great honor for Indonesia. He highlighted the participation of Indonesian TNI troops in the event, showcasing the strong ties between the two nations. The visit also includes scheduled meetings with Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss enhancing cooperation on various strategic issues.
