During a High Level Strategic Cooperation Meeting between Indonesian President, Prabowo Subianto, and Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prabowo expressed his interest in co-producing defense equipment between the two countries. He mentioned that Indonesia seeks support for joint ventures with Turkish companies and desires to have joint production within the defense industry. Prabowo highlighted existing collaborations between Indonesia and Turkey with defense industries like Roketsan, Aselsan, Havelsan, and Baykar. Additionally, he shared his optimism for increased trade between the two nations, despite the absence of a formal trade agreement. Prabowo also urged for the finalization of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) to further strengthen the economies of both countries. He emphasized the need for mutually beneficial trade and expressed confidence in resolving trade barriers through cooperation between Trade Ministers.
