Agus Joyo Sutono, a contract-based government teacher at SD Dua Jati Kulon in Jati District, Kudus Regency, has been teaching for more than twenty years. Recently, he expressed his gratitude towards the improvements in the distribution of the Teacher Professional Allowance (TPG) under President Prabowo Subianto’s administration. Agus noted that the disbursement of TPG has become faster, more accurate, and transparent, making it easier for teachers across Indonesia to receive their allowances.
Having started teaching in 2003 and officially appointed as a PPPK teacher in 2023, Agus sees his professional journey as a turning point in terms of recognition and motivation to enhance his teaching quality. Despite receiving TPG since 2011, it was only this year that he noticed a significant improvement in the distribution system. Agus mentioned that the new mechanism of direct central transfers to teachers’ accounts has streamlined the process and increased efficiency.
Agus sees the TPG not just as a financial incentive but also as a symbol of trust and state support for the teaching profession. He commended the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) and President Prabowo for the breakthrough policy that has simplified the distribution process. In addition to supporting his family, Agus also utilizes the TPG for his own education, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in primary school education.
Apart from personal use, Agus demonstrates solidarity by helping non-civil servant teaching staff and contributing to school activities using part of his TPG allowance. He believes that the new policy should become a long-term standard to support the welfare and professional work of dedicated teachers. Agus hopes that the TPG will continue to benefit teachers and contribute to the realization of a better Indonesia.
