Toyota dan Daihatsu Tetap Mendominasi Pasar Mobil Indonesia Meskipun Terkena Kontroversi

Toyota and Daihatsu remain the best-selling car brands in Indonesia in January 2024, with the highest sales figures. According to the data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), the overall wholesale vehicle sales reached 69,619 units, while retail sales reached 78,214 units. The January 2024 sales figures are considered less enthusiastic compared to December 2023, which saw 85,284 units (wholesales) and 89,586 units (retail sales).

Among the national automotive sales, Toyota and Daihatsu emerged as the top two best-selling car brands in Indonesia. Toyota sold 20,988 units in January 2024, while Daihatsu followed closely with 14,363 units. The impressive sales performance of Toyota and Daihatsu at the beginning of 2024 is notable, especially considering the serious scandal that affected the Toyota Group, casting a shadow on their reputation.

Following Toyota and Daihatsu, Honda ranked third with 8,413 units in wholesales and 10,019 units in retail sales. Mitsubishi Motors and Suzuki secured the fourth and fifth spots in wholesales with 6,962 units and 6,138 units, respectively. However, in retail sales, Suzuki surpassed Mitsubishi with 6,503 units compared to 6,437 units.
