Jakarta – The Minister of Defense and President-elect for 2024-2029, Prabowo Subianto, visited the residence of the 6th President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), in Cikeas, Bogor, West Java, on Friday (12/4) for an Eid al-Fitr 2024/1445 H gathering.
Dressed in a batik shirt, Prabowo arrived around 6:40 PM WIB.
After the meeting, Prabowo expressed that his visit with SBY during this special occasion was also an act of a junior visiting a senior.
“Eid. Eid. We came to visit our senior,” Prabowo explained.
Previously, Prabowo had visited several relatives as part of the Eid celebrations. On the first and second days of Eid, Prabowo met with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and his family at the State Palace.
On the second day, Prabowo also visited the home of senior Golkar party politician Aburizal Bakrie, Deputy Speaker of the DPR and Vice-Chairman of Gerindra Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Golkar Chairman Airlangga Hartarto, and the Chairman of PAN, Zulkifli Hasan.
Regarding the meeting between Prabowo and SBY, the coordinator of the Democratic Party’s spokesperson, Herzaky Mahendra Putra, revealed that the encounter was marked by a sense of closeness and warmth.
Herzaky added, “This holiday meeting highlights the friendship and the cordial relations between SBY and Prabowo, setting an example for others.”
