Fit After Leg Surgery, Prabowo Subianto Jogs Lightly and Strikes a Silat Pose at the Presidential Palace

Jakarta – The Indonesian Minister of Defense and President-elect for 2024-2029, Prabowo Subianto, appeared fit during a meeting with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday (8/7).

Prabowo even joked around, displaying a silat martial arts pose and jogging lightly while greeting the media, who inquired about his health following his recent leg surgery.

“How are you feeling, sir?” asked several journalists in unison. Prabowo responded to the question by giving two thumbs up.

Prabowo’s visit to the State Palace marks the third time he has appeared in public in good health since his operation at the National Defense Central Hospital (RSPPN) Panglima Besar Soedirman, Jakarta.

Before appearing at the State Palace, Prabowo had resumed his duties by attending the 78th Bhayangkara Day at the National Monument (Monas) on July 1, 2024.

Subsequently, he greeted the public at the launch of the Indonesian team’s jersey for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The jersey, designed by Indonesian designer Didit Hediprasetyo, was unveiled in Jakarta on July 5, 2024.

On June 30, 2024, Prabowo shared on his personal Instagram a moment of being visited by President Jokowi after the surgery.

“Thank you to President RI @jokowi for providing moral support and prayers,” Prabowo said.

In the post, Prabowo explained that the medical procedure was carried out for the nation and the country, despite the risks involved.

“I am aware and understand that the medical procedure I underwent was full of risks and life-threatening stakes. I reassure myself that all of this is for the Nation and the Country,” Prabowo elaborated.
