Prabowo Subianto to TNI-Polri Cadets: This Profession is Honorable and Noble, But Requires Sacrifice

Jakarta – Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto provided guidance to cadet officers of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri) at Balai Sudirman, South Jakarta, on Friday (12/7).

In front of 906 cadets, consisting of 417 from the Army, 129 from the Navy, 113 from the Air Force, and 247 from the Police, Prabowo conveyed that serving as a TNI or Polri officer is a noble calling.

“I must remind you that the profession you have chosen demands great sacrifices and the utmost willingness that requires both your spirit and your body,” said Prabowo.

He then urged all the cadets who will be commissioned to always defend Indonesia.

“The fate of the nation and your people rests on your shoulders. You have been chosen, selected, and forged so that when the time comes, you must defend your homeland,” Prabowo advised.

The President-elect for 2024-2029 also reminded the cadets about the national goals articulated in the preamble of the 1945 Constitution.

“Our national goal as stated in the preamble of our Constitution is very clear and straightforward: to protect the entire Indonesian nation,” Prabowo stated.

“Then to advance welfare. First to protect, then to educate, then to implement education. What is the point of building skyscrapers, airports, railways, and dams if this country is not intact, safe, and protected?” he continued.
