“Thank you for this honorable visit. As a close friend of Indonesia, the U.S. is expected to help strengthen the partnership between our two countries,” Prabowo remarked.

“Thank you for your time, sir. It’s a pleasure to meet and embrace you,” responded General Bryan.

This meeting follows the November 13, 2023, agreement in Washington, D.C., where President Jokowi and U.S. President Joseph R. Biden agreed to elevate the bilateral relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP).

In line with that agreement, this meeting focused on strengthening the partnership, particularly in the defense sector.

Indonesia is also looking forward to the upcoming Indonesia-U.S. Security Dialogue scheduled for October. This dialogue is a crucial platform for deepening bilateral security cooperation, addressing common challenges, enhancing regional stability, and fostering mutual understanding. (RR)
