President Prabowo Subianto has made a significant announcement regarding the increase in teachers’ salaries starting in 2025, showcasing his dedication to upholding the rights of all Indonesians. In a speech delivered during the pinnacle event of National Teachers’ Day 2024 at Jakarta International Velodrome, Rawamangun, Jakarta, Prabowo emphasized the importance of ensuring that every rupiah belonging to the Indonesian people benefits the Indonesian people. Addressing a crowd of teachers, Prabowo underscored Indonesia’s unique resources and reiterated his commitment to establishing a transparent government. He called for greater attention and courage in eliminating corruption, illicit fees, smuggling, and other forms of malpractice that deplete the country’s wealth. Prabowo also urged the public, particularly teachers, to have faith in the government’s actions and emphasized the need for patience, perseverance, and trust. The salary increase announced by Prabowo specifically targets educators with the status of Civil Servants (ASN), with a raise equivalent to one month’s basic salary. Additionally, non-ASN honorary teachers who have completed teacher certification will see an increase in professional allowances to IDR 2 million.
