Prabowo Attends Singapore’s National Day: Warm Welcome from Indonesians

President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, graced the Singapore National Day Parade on Saturday (Aug. 9) as Singapore celebrated its 60th Independence Day. The annual National Day in Singapore is a significant event that marks the country’s independence in 1965. President Prabowo, accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, arrived at Paya Lebar Airbase at 3:40 p.m. local time via the Indonesian Presidential Aircraft.

The President’s arrival was warmly welcomed by a lively crowd of Indonesian citizens, members of the diaspora, students, and embassy officials at the hotel where he stayed. President Prabowo took the time to personally greet and shake hands with each individual, fostering a warm and familial atmosphere. The expatriate community, including Indonesian university students in Singapore, expressed their patriotic spirit through cheers and applause during the visit.

The visit not only strengthened the bond between Indonesia and Singapore but also showcased the President’s personal connection and approachability towards his citizens abroad. This special event emphasized the importance of diplomatic relations and the unity of Southeast Asian nations.
