The Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force successfully conducted a humanitarian aid mission to Gaza Strip, Palestine on Sunday, August 17, 2025. The mission was a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Defense, Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the National Alms Agency (Baznas). Two Indonesian Air Force C-130J Super Hercules aircraft took off from King Abdullah II Air Base in Amman, Jordan at 10:37 a.m. local time. They conducted an airdrop of aid supplies over Gaza and safely returned to the forward operating base by 12:25 p.m. local time.
Colonel Pilot Puguh Yulianto, Commander of the Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force, mentioned that the mission proceeded smoothly without significant obstacles. The aid packages delivered included essential supplies like staple foods, ready-to-eat meals, medical equipment, blankets, and items specifically for children. President Prabowo Subianto personally ordered the mission, showcasing Indonesia’s commitment to international humanitarian solidarity.
The success of this mission on Indonesia’s independence anniversary was celebrated as a moment of national pride, highlighting the country’s active role on the global stage and contributions to global peace. Colonel Puguh Yulianto expressed that this achievement was a historic milestone and a special gift on Indonesia’s Independence Day.
