MALANG – The police have designated a suspect in a domestic violence case that led to the death of a woman identified as DS (41).
The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Malang Police, AKP Gandha Syah Hidayat revealed that the suspect with the initials DMM (40) is none other than the husband of the victim, DS.
“This case did take some time for us to uncover, because we adhere to the principles of caution and the presumption of innocence,” said Gandha on Monday (12/2).
For your information, the domestic violence that led to the victim’s death occurred on January 24th. The police received a report of the incident on January 25th, 2024 at 01.20 AM.
The incident took place in a housing complex in the Singosari District, Malang Regency.
Gandha explained that in uncovering the incident, they interviewed 12 witnesses, three of whom are expert witnesses.
“We also secured a video (testimony of the victim’s biological child) and a diary belonging to the victim which contains her life story. Our suspicion is that the content of the diary points towards the husband or the perpetrator,” he said.
Gandha further revealed that the police also obtained evidence in the form of the victim’s medical records which, according to the doctor’s statement, indicated that the victim died from poisoning.
After half a month, the husband in Malang who poisoned his wife with floor cleaner is now a suspect.
